Tired all of the time

Hi, So I suffer from PTSD, anxiety and depression. It is 'controlled' with sertraline 100mg daily.

I just wondered if it's normal to feel completely exhausted all day long. I am currently taking my medication in the evening - I don't know if it would make a difference to take in the mornings instead.

So today I was in town with my friend and I couldn't be dealing with it. It felt tiring to put a sentance together and I felt so relieved as soon as I got home! I ate some food and now I'm in bed again. It's only 4pm.

I like to read books and be by myself as it takes my mind off of things that are affecting me...

I just want some advice on how to cope with being tired and would like to hear your experiences.

Thanks.

Hi kim. I used to take them at night and i felt really tired all day. I havent been on then very long, just over 3 weeks. I started taking them at 7:30 am and i found that i have lots more energy. I feel happier throughout the day and more energised. I do feel abit anxious at night and abit restless some times. Try taking it in the morning might help. Fingers crossed ☺.

hi kimi and ditto! I'm on my 3rd week of 100mg (15wks on sert in total), I do the school run at 8-8.40am, come home and think I'll just have a nap til 10 and next thing I know it's 12 sad I would never have been able to sleep that long before sert. I take mine about 9-11pm as when I first started on sert and took them in the morn, I was experiencing a 'surge' mid afternoon which felt like anxiety so I thought it'd be better for the peak to happen whilst asleep. Thinking about it now tho, that may have been a side effect and possibly wouldn't happen now if I switched to am.

Don't know if you have tried vitamins...think its magnesium or b12 for energy.

Hope u find an improvement soon., keep posting xx

    Hi Kimmidoll,

Great advice here. I would expound on the nutrition side of it as I have taken Sertraline 50 mg at night for many years at a time on and off throughout my adult life without problematic side effects. However, vitamin supplements have helped the extreme fatigue you describe.

I suffer from something called Chronic Epsteine Barre Syndrome, much worse than Mononucleosis. It is worth getting a complete study done to find any underlying physiological causes of your fatigue.

I want to refer you to another forum on here under the category Alternative and Complimentary Medicine, a title something like that. There is a wealth of knowledge in that forum which might help you find answers to your needs, so post there also.

Keep in mind to remember to report your symptoms to your doctor and always check to see if adding any natural medicinal to your daily regime is a safe mix with Sertraline and other meds you might take.

Hope you get to the bottom of your fatigue!
