Tiredness....

I have been on 10mg since Sunday and the extreme tiredness is just too much! No matter how much I sleep I am still struggling to stay awake!! Is there anyway to combat this?? Or do I just have to put up with it??

    Hi Nicola,

Cita works on our bodies in various ways to treat that which is wrong. Most of us experience this tiredness, some more (believe it or not) some less (lucky or what!) and it is the body saying relax you need to reswhile Cita gets to work. One morning you'll wake up and that'll be that, eventually realising you are not so tired anymore.

Any further concerns do not forget to keep your Dr in the loop, as we should always. You could have a look at your nutrition and see if you are get the right healthy diet (which is ok if you are not feeling the old nausea side effect Lol!), including vitimins B6 and D3 which certainly helped me boost the old serotonin levels. Also (if you can manage to get out of bed) exercise and at least 10 mins of sunshine each day (thatis when summer returns! Lol!). If you cannot then just rest and recouperate until it passes.

Always remember everyone is different and not everyone experiences the same side effects, levels of or intensity as others.

Keep posting, keep asking and we'll keep suporting you!

Regards and needing a lie down now meself,

    David

Hi nicola ... its normal I remember when I first started taking them I was tearful too.. iv been on them for a good few years now I'm on 40mg a day I'm not saying it's a good thing it's a shame our brains sometimes need this sort of help but I knew I needed some other Form other than just talking to someone which I did too...I call them happy pills now... I'm so so different on them it's all to do with our brain chemicals but for me they have made a real difference ... maybe you should just take them b4 bed I do sometimes and I sleep well ... its just getting used to them can take up to 2 months .... I would never push them on someone but your doc has given them to you for a reason it's just time love .... hope what ever you take them for it helps you X X

It is a side effect and yes to take this cit pill it is one side effect you gave to deal with. As I've been told, it'll get better over time of being on cit. Good luck to you, I was also told to try adding a couple vitamins, B6 and D3, if you feel better asking your doctor first about those two vitamins, do so. Stay right here for more questions, there are a lot of people out there in the same situation as you and talking with these people does help. Thinking of you, Cindy

Well I'm now coming off of them, I was on 5 mg for 5 weeks and 10 mg for 6 weeks and she, my doctor, decided to see if my fatigue and anxiety gets worse or better as I wean off. Well this morning I'm pretty tired, I have those days, I walk everyday, try to get outside too if I can. Not sure I'll try anything else, we'll see what happens, I have about 4 more weeks to wean, she is slowly weaning me, don't stop this pill cold turkey, wean slowly or as you doctor sees fit for when you do decide to come off of it. Hope your side effects will subside fast, each person reacts differently. always friend, Cindy

    Hi Nicola

i presume you are taking your medication in the morning? I did this initially and was really tired. Now I take it about six in the evening and it works well but check with your doctor first to see what they think. Hope this helps.

      Hello,

No I was taking them in the evening about 7pm, but then I thought today I would try the morning, and I feel worse than ever!! sad x

      Hi Nicola,

Sorry to hear yer feelin worse. I moved my dose to just before bedtime and that worked for me. Let Cita do its job while I slept. Another reason could be that you didn't phase in the move from one dose to the next therefore leaving it too  long or worse too short between doses, as your body may think you are increasing!

Anyway chin up Nic and keep posting. I'm posting my reducing update shortly - now that'll make for interesting reading!

      Regards,

      David

      Hi again Nicola

i found when I switched from morning to evening it took a while to adjust but find evenings better than Mornings  as I then wasn't so tired during the day.

next time you see your Doctor tell him /her about tiredness and see what they think. It took me a good three months to feel completely well but worth the persistence. You will get better.😺
