How soon after the op can I start using bio oil on my scar?

    Hi Louise.i didn’t use bio oil until I had the staples removed and sure there was no ‘weeping ‘

    was about 14 days for me.

      Oh that's good then. Someone told me 6 weeks but I'm 3 weeks post op and my scar is definitely fine. Thank you

      I also massage the bio oil onto the whole knee physio told me it will help break down scar tissue and also aid the swelling process.

    Hi Louise,

    ?I didn't use bio oil, just Aloe Vera Gel ......... I started using it as soon as my dressing was removed and the incision was declared infection free - 2 weeks post op. Incidently, I didn't need to worry about staples coming out - mine were the self dissolving type.

    Hi Louise, I was told not to use it until incision was completely closed over...was about 4 weeks. This was so as no oil got into incision. It was brilliant my scar is very faint now.

      I started about 4 days ago. It made the skin around my knee flake at first. It's fine now though
