Well, today I walked to the supermarket about 500 yards away from my house. Doesn't sound much but I done it without my stick. I'm 5 weeks 4 days post tkr. I must admit it was scary and I couldn't wait to get home again but I'm quite proud of myself 😁

      Thanks Lywn, I maybe could've picked a better time though. Place was packed. I was waiting on someone bumping into me but all went OK lol 😁

    Careful...what you don't need is a fall from the leg giving out while you are trying to prove you infallibility. Excercise and building strength is great but overdoing thing to prove we're some kind of physical specimens can be foolish a nd yes, dangerous. Watch out for exhau s tion and pain tomorrow. Better to take a week building up to a trip like this than making this trip all in one giant leap. Good luck but don't be surprised with the results.

      I'm fine today. I was really careful and took it slow. It was scary though so might use my stick next time unless I've got my husband to hold on to 😀

    WOOHOO!!!!  We love success stories.  Just remember that 5 weeks is still very early.  Be patient...it will all come back in time.  Congrats...

      Thanks Chico, I went out again yesterday for a wee walk but took my stick this time. I'll do it gradually
