Nine weeks out from TKR where die to Covid 19 I was only able to get two weeks of PT. I have worked hard to get my ROMmy knBoth my PT and surgeon are out because of the virus. Still swollen and stiff. What I’ve noticed, is that my foot tends to turn to the right. Any idea why? Both my PT and surgeon are out because of the virus.

Hi, I don't know if this is your first TKR, but I certainly understand any concern you might be feeling, having gone through it myself over two years ago with my first knee. l worried about a host of things that I was feeling & worried that it might not be 'normal' & having no one to ask about it. This site was a Godsend to me. To answer your question, all i can say is that my foot seemed to droop downwards! Probably yours is nothing to worry about, as mine wasn't. The swelling & stiffness can take months to disappear, particularly if you overdue things. Although in the beginning there doesn't seem to be much improvement, i can assure you it will improve & keep improving. Just keep doing your exercises & you'll get there in the end. I was so pleased with mine that i had my other knee replaced 5 mths ago & i have to say i was astonished at how fast this one recovered. I put this down to being more positive this time & knowing it'll come right. Good luck with your recovery & remember, time has to pass & you will be so glad you had this done. There is light at the end of the tunnel !

I'm 3 months out from my 2nd knee replacement and only had one physio session before Covid 19 called a halt to it. The left knee was done 15 months ago and it's the right one this time round. My right foot turns out to the right too. i had valgus knees (slightly knock kneed) and I think it's due to the correction and straightening of the leg that's caused it. When I saw the surgeon's registrar for my post op review he thought it likely and that it might correct itself over the year as it adjusts to a straight leg. I'm not convinced, but we'll see. My new knee gives me no problem at all other than it's quite swollen still, whereas the left has a few issues that will hopefully resolve over the next few months, but I can live with it if not. It's better than it was that's for sure.
