TKR and MUA - still struggling with ROM. Discouraged and seeking suggestions on how to overcome?

I had my right TKR in July. It was very painful and I ended up getting a completely stiff knee 10-60 range. I ended up with a complete revision & removal of scar tissue in Dec. I went to PT 5x weekly and was able to get to 1 - 80 but after 6 weeks the scar tissue got ahead of me again so my Dr. performed a MUA in Jan. I'm one week after the MUA my quad is still so tender I can bend it up to 90 degrees but anything 70 degrees come with sharp medial quad pain. I've backed off to 70 degrees to try and let the quad heal. My extension can get to 1 on a good day after tons of stretching and massage. I changed to a new physical therapist, I do my at home exercises and I even rented the X10 at home therapy machine (out of pocket) for post MUA recovery. I take a day off to rest & heal but then I feel like my ROM gets worse. I'm constantly swelling and I seem to ice and elevate all day but it never really goes away. Except for my quad I don't have join pain, which is some progress, but getting ROM seems impossible. I've 8 months into this now and so discouraged that I'm not making progress. Suggestions or ideas on how to achieve ROM gains?
