had the operation early November and everything has been great since, plenty of exercise, surgeon impressed and now signed off. However, now the swelling has gone down, now and again it feels if the knee is going to collapse on me. Now happening on daily basis, yesterday, walking up the stairs but normally when sitting down and lifting leg when bent. ligaments? is this an experience others have had?

    Hi

I had my right Knee done 2 yrs ago this week.

The first 6 months are the worst for recuperation. However i was very fit and active before the operation, and after 2 months went back to the Gym 3 times a week for the next 8 months which helped my recovery and was back playing Tennis indoors 12 months later. Even after 2 yrs i still go the Gym and do daily excercises in the morning to stretch and bend my knee.

I am very fortunate that I can play Tennis which i l love I am 71yrs young.

It is still early days for you, and you need to keep excercising every day and hopefully you will see an improvement. The old adage is excercise, excercise and more excercise

It will take up to 12 months or more before you will feel that your knee is fully recovered

It is a long process but do not give up and i assure you will get there in the long term

    Good luck

      Hi again

I dont know about your problem which may be connected to your ligament.

Have you been doing a lot of Excercise every day since November. If you are worried either go and see your physio or go back and talk to your Surgeon. I am sure it may be something which can be resolved easily

It could just be the healing process .

      Take care
