TKR approx 2yrs ago on both knees. 6 weeks apart. Burning and stinging started right after surgery and has not stopped. Just keeps hurting like this and keeps me from walking and doing much. Surgeon says nothing wrong with TKR. Any help is appreciated.

I had a left tkr over 2 years ago, and was going to have a revision , until Covid 19 caused me surgery to be cancelled. There are problems with mine, so you may want to go to another ortho surgeon to check your knees, one that specializes in revisions, and or problems that won't go away.

Sorry to appear stupid but what is a revision? Something to make the original better? Thanks.

the surgeon will take out the DePuy implant that another surgeon put in 2 1/2 years ago and put another one in. Basically another horrible surgery, possibly even worse than the first one. But, I had no choice. Now Im just waiting for the reschedule to happen. sigh.............

Thank you....I sincerely wish you the very best with this revision. I know its frustrating on the wait right now, but hopefully once it's all done you can start to look forward to being better.

    Hi.

So sorry to read of your experience . Seems strange that you have had the same reaction with both new joints. Just wondering if you could be having an allergic reaction to the metal used .

I am allergic to nickel and cobalt. My original consultant said a nickel knee would be no problem but there is evidence to suggest that nickel implants can cause a reaction, so I found more sympathetic surgeon who fitted a titanium knee for me, which has been great.

It may, of course, be nothing to do with this, but the fact that both knees have had the same result rang alarm bells with me and it may be worth considering if you do need revision surgery.

Hope you can get this resolved.

    Suzanne.
