Tkr pain and stiffness

Hi I am reaching the 4 week mark, and I am still having problems. The major problem seams to be when I bend my knee it feels like it is catching and then locks for a second. This really hurts when I am doing steps, but it happens when I am doing heel slids or any other bending.
I was just wondering if anyone else has or had this problem. My surgeon said to keep eye on it, and it sounds like hamstring tendinitis?? So we are doing exercises to strengthen the hamstrings but I have not felt any relief.
Thanks again for any and all input

You're a long way off for on recovery yet!! 4 weeks is nothing. You'll get all sorts of clicking sounds - don't forget your body has to get used to a prosthetic inside your skin!!
It can take up to a year!!

I have a very similar issue at 5 1/2 weeks post op on a partial left knee replacement. Slide exercises are the worst. Feels so unnatural to have to push past that stopping point ...the tightness, clicking, popping....
I have found that if I lay on my back and put the leg up, I support it with a rope or stretchy band, then let the leg fall fall more naturally into the bend position.

That concerns me because even though there's no choice at some point you have to go thru with the surgery, but I waited until after the fact to thoroughly resaerch it, and what I read is not encouraging, because Murphy's law firgures into the 20% who don't do well would include me.
I'm 20 days past the TKR and in therapy to get it to bend and flex. I am finding this extremely painful and they say take pain meds before therapy. What I've been given is Percoset. But taking even two does not take the edge off and I am wondering if the scarr tissue has built up too fast and if I will need another surgery to go in and cut it? In the past the protocol has always been, back off and rest if your joint becomes painful.(Doctor's advice right after surgery, and my RA doc's advice when it came to excercising) Now it seems to be, work it no matter how much it hurts. I'm finding that extremely difficult. There is no complications like infection to blame. The only option I see is to quit therapy and live with a knee that only bends 30-60 degrees. I am not going to allow a Natzi therapist bend myy knee further while I try not to scream. That's just sick.
Your problem makes me wonder if scarr tissue not only locks up or hinders movement but can form where the hinge is supposed to move. Would they do an mri on you to find out the problem? I doubt its hamstrings, unless they are getting stuck on something. Be your own advocate and get them to look into it.
