balance tests..mri....cat scans...drs.......repeated tests......rotary chair  gaze........basically everything was good...they dont have a test for MAV its a process oof elimination......and what I told them.....I had dizzy spells over 30 years   but it would go away for months.....then come back for a day or so disappear...for a little over a year now Its been bad  had to leave my job........now I am functioning but many times I need to wait because I get dizzy.......my mother had migraines and one of my sons does   so they are saying its heredity except I get dizzy......I asked so everytime I get dizzy I am getting a migraine   my answer was yes.......how could that be????

Silent migraines present with dizziness as do normal migraines. MAV sufferes can get all the symptoms I get and I have VN and BPPV

I have migrane related to hormones and my dizziness is much worse when I have them

I have TMJ and I was diagnosed a few years ago however my dizziness has been ongoing since August and there is no met up, I have to wear a splint at night to stop me grinding and clenching and my face also feels funny at times, TMD is horrible it can cause all sorts of problems with headaches, neck etc unfortunately there is no cure only symptom management I believe, I have posted on here before about my dizziness, I don't think it's down to TMD. Xx

Horrid isn't it - I have been having dental work for 3 months now loads of extractions, riot canal a filling and now all the fittings for dentures. I have only 4 top teeth now and 6 bottom teeth so my bite is just so out of line , I have no support on my jaw as no teeth and I have such facial pain I can't tell u I can barely open my mouth any more - only think that eases it is a hot flannel of clothes that have come out the tumble dryer hot!

    Hi Rita

With TMJ do you have ringing in your ear or ears?

My ent thought maybe that was my proble . But he had me doing all kinds of excercises with my jaw and he ruled that out.

Every once in awhile i get fullness and ringing in my ring ear mostly......I heard of something called vertical heterophoria that has the same symptoms......I was waiting to get it checked because the dr I am seeing doesnt take my insurance and the specialist for the vertical heterophoria doesnt take my insurance either......neither one is cheap  and I am running low....If I know this was the problem I would have gone already   Did see an eye doctor   said my otic nerve that controls balance was fine   saw an opthamologist.......I really am at the end of my rope with this....my eyes feel tired almost always....Bad day today

My ent said the ringing in my ear is tinnitus

And that it will go away with therapy.

This whole thing is annoyinga nd doctors not being able to pin point the problem. I guess all of my issues are connected to an inner ear problem that started with a darn sinus infection .

just keeep on top of it...usually when sinus infections clear up the rest should clear up too as far as I understand.......I mean you might feel yucky maybe a few more weeks to follow but then you should be ok.......all this advancement in medicine and they cant fiqure this outrolleyes

Hi I K ow it's a while since you posted but I have literally just joined. I was told last year that I have vertigo with migraine.(no relevance yet) and was discharged from my ENT doc. However I grind my teeth so bad that I started getting ear, head and neck pain plus my jaw absolutly kills. Went to my doc who said I have TMD. I do get rather dizzy with it but feel more of a dizzy head than dizzy! I think this could be what is wrong and not vertigo! I'm at the dentist next week. How did u get on?
