TMJ disorder flare up. At what point should I seek dental assistance?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I have had TMJ problems since I was 13 and I've been able to live mostly fine with it. However, ever since sleeping in my new bed which has a harder mattress my left jaw has been aching in a pretty significant way. It's been a week now and I still have pain that's actually gotten worse. Recently I started sleeping on a softer pillow and I haven't seen that much improvements. At what point should I seek dental assistance? I'm starting to have irrational fears of getting lockjaw!
