TMJ, new symptoms and just feeling bad :(

the past year I've been having TMJ which is a disorder in the jaw joint. I thought it will fade away at some point but it only gets worse... I had acupuncture that didn't help and I've scheduled an appointment for physical therapy but I don't think it can actually help... in addition I have pain in my teeth that I've checked with numerous of dentist over and over again and they say it's nothing... and to top it all the last few weeks I have new symptoms - headaches, nausea and dizziness. and it's winter now so I just really suffer from the cold weather. don't know if I'm asking you guys something but I just feel like writing it and complaining.. no one knows about my fibro except my mom and my sisters but they don't understand the syndrome and don't even bother to take the time to look it up so I feel like I can't talk about it cause it just seems like I'm complaining about everything all day and they don't understand that for me things like feeling tired or exhausted or feeling like my brain is in a cloud or just feeling like i have to stop for a moment - they don't understand its part of the disease. it just makes me feel alone and I really try to keep it together - I study and work everyday, I live on my own and I do everything on my own. I guess sometimes it just feels too much. feels good even to just write it here.. anyway, does anyone have tips for the headaches, nausea and dizziness?

I believe I may be able to help. I have the same thing but the source of your pain doesn't originate in the jaw. I had shoulder and neck problems that my doctor sent me to physio for when it was determined to be a soft tissue problem and not bone and the PT solved it. When the muscles in the middle of your back get very tight they pull on the muscles to your shoulder joint, which in turn pulls on your neck, and then finally pulls the muscles and tendons etc near that nerve in your head. This gave me screaming headaches, stabbing head pain, a tender jaw, dizziness, pain just being touched on the head, the feeling of my cheeks being grazed, numb patches on my face, pain around my eyes like I'd been punched. I was given some exersises to deal with it on a daily basis as well as massage from the PT. Painkillers will do nothing but physiotherapy will get you on top of this. With inflammation the nerves get pressured and the nausea and dizziness can stem from this. I modified the exersises to my need and very rarely have a headache anymore, the dizziness is much less, and the nausea lessened. Get a referral from your doc and give it a try because a conpetent PT at worst will at least have you more relaxed, which does help with the generalised muscle pain.

What I did with my family was to give them the book the rhumetologist gave me at the hospital . They all read it and now try and understand where I'm coming from xx
