TN

I think once you have it you always do. I was diagnosed in 2011 . I had MVD surgery in June of 2016. I was taking the maximum amount of carbamazepine and gabapentin 300 . They said the medicine failed me. I do not have the shock pain at all now which is such a relief. Some people have the surgery 2 and it makes the pain worse. I can not imagine that. I would never want to go through that again. The first year is tiff. I had double and screwed vision for 4 months. My balance was bad so my husband had to help me walk and do almost everything. After the double vision went away by balance improved. I have head , mouth, and eye pain but nothing like before. Kathy

    Hi,

I am happy u don't have the double vision any more. I had a stroke on my right side but everything on that side moved but was just numb, at first my right foot would not move that was when I was in hospital.

People would never know that I had a stroke but it shows when I sit for a while and can't rise from sitting position.

My one year annivery surgery date was July 27, 2017 , I still have double vision just not as bad. Falling, stumbling, is part of my every day activity.

I have to have domeone pull me up from sitting position.

Glasses don't work, my vision changes like clockwork, my optomologist explained this to me.

Shocks are gone waiting for God to heal me completely I know he will.

God is still healing us all.

God bless us and keep us and give us peace

Sorry to hear what you are going thru after your MVD surgery.  I did not have any problems with my MVD surgery two years ago.  It just did not solve the problem.  I still have pain.  I am going to have the gamma knife procedure done within the next couple of weeks  to see if that will take the pain away.  The only meds I take is Topamax and tizanidine

Hope you are better.  I was wondering if all you vision and balance being off was from  was from the medicine.  I was carbamazepine a while back and that is what if did to me.  I looked like I was drunk and my vision was bad.  I was having issued with tongue pain to start and had headaches and right eye pain.  The doctor I wa sgoing to said I had some type of neuralgia.  He didn't say I had TN.   The medicine didn't seem like it was ding any good so I told the doctor to take me off of it for a while and see what happens.  Within a couple of months it basically went away.  Every now and then I have a little trouble but the medicine really had me messed up.

The reason I am looking on the forum is I am having pain with all my teeth hurting.  Started last November after I went to the dentist for a cleaning.  Had a fluoride treatment done also.  I have been to several dentist and they say they can't see anything wrong.  I went to a neurologist.  Wasn't real happy with him.  He is have me do a MRI of my head next week.

When he came in the room to see me he asked if I was having electric like shock pains and I told him no.  I think he was leaning towards TN.  I told him my teeth are sensitive to touch like if I tap them with my fingernail and that my front four top teeth feel numb a lot of the time and three of them chave crowns and two of them have root canals.  Anyway I was wondering if the medicine was bothering you.
