Hi Vicky
Do you still have any of those symptoms after 5 months taking vit D3?
I took one tablet this afternoon with a magnesium tablet and I was so overwhelmed with tiredness. Do you take magnesium too? Maybe it's best to take them before bed, what time do you take yours?

Hi Meril , yes i have a few symptoms but no where near as bad as they were , some have subsided , i havent had my levels rechecked yet as it takes a long time to replenish . But the symptoms start subsiding within 1 to 2 months

Great post!!! Love to hear about what's important for our health. My multi has 3,000 and at night I take extra 2,000 Vit D... I'll have to look at my levels-- lately I've been low in iron.

Hi kelly , thank you !n,low blood iron is also a symptom of a D deficiency . I hope it isnt bad enough to be considered anemia ? If not , eating high iron foods usually treats low iron pretty quickly . I hope you are feeling well

Please, please see a doctor before you take any extra from what the label says.
I started taking 4,000 IU daily and when I told my doctor, he wasn’t too pleased. The thing is with D3 is it provides calcium to be absorbed better in your body, and too much calcium can also cause nasty symptoms like depression and anxiety.
I’m not saying vitamin D3 won’t work wonders, but be sure to get blood work done before you start taking extra supplements since you might not need it.
I’m waiting on my results, but my doctor was shocked to find out that it stats on google that 5,000-10,000 IU is safe.

Thanks Vicky, I think the worst is over.. I've been taking extra iron for over 2 months now and eating foods with iron in it.. I know it takes awhile to build up but due for more blood work in a month or so. I'm feeling much better so I think the iron and vit D are helping!! Never knew iron was related to Vit D.

Hi Nina--- Yes I understand about taking too much. I just looked and in August Vit D was in the normal range--63... So I could probably just take extra a couple times a week. I don't need an overload.I have heard a few times that if you were to choose one vitamin to take, it would be D.. Just looked at Calcium and that's in the normal range too---9.2... Defiantly don't want to add to my anxiety!! Thanks for the info..

Great news Kelly ! Its very rare to get an overload ,however you sound on track . Great job ! Can you refresh our memories , what were your start off levels ? Did you suffer anxiety before low levels or did it cone with your deficiency ? Did or do you have stomach issues ?

I have always taken Vit D... I think I was concerned about bone health as I age-- I'm in my 50's.. Even my dentist reminded me to take Vit D a few years ago for my teeth and I hate the dentist so I take it.. So not sure I was ever low per blood tests.. But I do notice in the fall (less sun) I feel tired/blah so I think that was another reason why I started with extra Vit D to make sure I had enough. No stomach issues just anxiety which is more social anxiety --holiday parties, weddings really anything.. maybe even some at work. My spouse has terrible anxiety-- it effects him everyday.. He was low years ago and Dr told him to take vit D which he did but not anymore.. So it's very frustrating---So I'm trying to focus more on myself than anything..

Hi Nina , i wish you well . Did you know in other countries Vitamin D is given by shot of dosages up to 600,000 ius at a time ? They wont do that here in America but yet there are plenty of doctors that prescribe 50,000 ius twice weekly . It is very rare to get toxicity from vitamin D . I can understand your doctors reaction however , most doctors are uninformed on vitamin D and its deficiency symptoms .
