Today I finally napped

For months I have struggled with taking a nap during the daytime.  Ever since April I would just lie down and my mind would never shut off. It's been like that at night where I have had to take a sleeping pill.  One reason doctor put me on Zoloft is for the anxiety and low mood depression and to get off the sleeping pills.  I am not quite there yet.  I am on 50mg Zoloft and I am in my early third week.  I have been taking my Zoloft in the morning and last night I could not fall asleep.  My mind did not want to sleep.  I had to eventually take a .25 klonopin and that knocked me out for 5 hours.  Today was my first day seeing a therapist.  I felt really good afterwards.  When I came home I lay down on the sofa and thought what the heck I am not going to sleep I will just lay here, but I actually did fall asleep.  I had a tiny tiny dream.  I was kind of in and out of the sleep but to actually get something is the first time I have napped in a long time.  I am going to start taking Zoloft at night and see how I do. When I take it in the morning I have a lot of brain fog and stomach problems.   I am hoping I will not need the klonopin, but the goal is I have it for back up and use it until Zoloft kicks in.  I have a job interview Thursday and I am hoping to get this job because this will make a huge difference in my life to be working and focusing on other things than my health.  I am a bit of a hypochondriac.  I do have mild ocd but it is the anxiety that I am trying to rid myself of.

I am going to start tonight about 8pm.  I hope it does well for me.  I have the klonopin if needed.  I will let you know tomorrow how I do.  Even if I need the klonopin tonight I plan on taking the Zoloft at night and giving a try for two or three nights and see, eventually I should be able to sleep fine on it and not take klonopin.

What mg are you on? I've been on 50 for two weeks. I'm still having lots of anxiety too mornings usually.

If you are changing from morning to night I would take one slightly later in the morning and then later the next day till you reach the time you want to take it. I changed to night and side effects hit me like a sledgehammer.

      Good luck

I took zoloft last night at 8 and got in bed at 10. Could not fall asleep so I took .25 of klonopin at 11 and was out till about 5am. Woke up really tired. I hate this feeling. I called the nurse and told her I'm going to take zoloft midday like around 2pm. I'm still having anxiety too. She said when I come back next week if I'm still having anxiety maybe this isn't the medicine for me. I don't want to have to change.

Hi Hoopz, how you doing? I just wanted to ask about what you said about the side effects being bad changing from morning to night? most of my side effects have gone now but was thinking of taking it at night instead of morning, to see if it would help me not be tiered and washed out during the day. but dont want to go through the side effects again.

im the same. 150mg and on week 8. my dreams are very vivid, not necessarily bad, but cause me to wake constantly, and dont feel like im getting a break from them, if that makes any sense! the dreaming is tiring me out, but i am feeling a lot better, i actually feel better and more positive in mornings than i do come night time.
