Today I have opted for a supercurvicel hysterectomy. Waiting for the surgical team to contact me.

i have a 3 an 10 centimeter fibroids that may have been there for years . opting for the supercurvicle

      gosh what isn't my question kind of in shock this is going to happen . what to expect after surgery? i have been assured just the my uterus will be removed with the fibriods leaving my overies an cervics in tact. an i would skip menopause all together. however i read all but the cervics will come out not sure what is what. i am older not concerned that i cant bear children any longer but o would like to think a healthy sex life is is still possible .

      I had my uterus and cervix removed but kept ovaries.

      If the uterus is removed yiu will go through menopause earlier than nirmal9 as without the uterus the ovaries have no blood supp,y so will die off withing 5 years of the surgery.

      Sex is normal for me and dont feel any difference as the vagina dont change.

      I'd be asking my consultant all my worries before I go ahead and research all yiu can. That's what I did along with a top Urogynacologist from Wales.

      thank you for the response. i have been researching on line so much info an indepth consult with the gyn. he will be my surgeon also researched him as well all 5 star reviews feel very comfortable with my disicion as it was a dificult one. pardon my several spelling errors .
