Toe Fusion Recovery

So, I had a toe fusion on the 27th February on my great toe. Pain is now starting to go gradually by itself after no painkillers working, not even oramorph! It's obviously still rather painful though

I was wondering how long the recovery period took? I said to my teachers that I should be back on the 13th March, but my post-op assessment isn't until the 15th. Should I go back on the 13th, 16th or go back a week later after my post-op. I currently cannot stand for more than 1 minute without it becoming painful and swelling, so this may be an issue at school.

I only have a walking shoe and no crutches so was going to ask for crutches in post-op as otherwise it would take me too long to walk around school and it's painful to walk. The only issue is I'm in year 12, so my AS levels are coming up and it's a bit difficult to ask my school and teachers to have 3-4 weeks off when I said it will possibly be 2, but I don't think I'd manage being on my feet and not elevating it for school yet.

Any help would be great!

It's quite a big op. I had mine in June and was off work until October. I still have pain in mine (but that caused by another issue) I would definitely wait a while.
