I had that also. It was diagnosed as Morton's neuroma. Steroid shots worked really good but I had surgery and is hardly any pain after surgery

I had a steroid shot a few months ago..worked well but wore off, had another in a slightly different place 2 weeks ago and has barely worked...q bruised and been in agony.  Trying not to have op as outcome v variable...can work or can make it worse (stump neuromas etc)  Hoping to see my podriatic consultant in a few weeks to discuss different treatments.  I don't believe there is much you can do micheleann62 beyond not wearing tight shoes (I don't) high heels (I don't) perhaps wearing custom made orthotics (I do) and to massage the area if it hurts.  Mine has been caused I believe by bad management by doctors and delayed healing of a fifth metatarsal displaced fracture which led to me loading incorrectly.  This has been upheld by the orthotics dept and a physio, and , although obviously not in writing, by the consultant who gave me a second opinion

Now today so far nothing. It was like nothing ever happened. Not looking to use anymore steroids in my lifetime. Have been oral and injection for over 30 years for my back and severe asthma. They have screwed up a lot of things. Hope it won't happen again we will see fingers crossed
