Tofranil/Imapramine

Hi, I've been depressed on and off all of my life since childhood. So far no anti depressant has worked. Tried all the SSRIs and many of the others. None alleviated the depression and some of the side effects were awful.

I am wondering if the tricyclic Tofranil would be a good drug to try and am wondering if anyone here is using it. I've read good reviews, it is an old drug but people seem to get (mostly) good drugs.

I'd be very glad to hear of your experience of it. Many thanks.

    im like you, tried them all and no help, actually made me worse. i would also be interested in Tofranil but i heard it was being taken off market, not sure if thats true.

    Such a shame that we have to rely on medications to make us happy. .I won't go down that road, and take one day at a time ,without any side effects. hoping that one day ,I will become de-depressed.

    i would be interested in any informarion you get regarding good anti depressant. i am having such trouble finding one to suit.
