Tolerance withdrawals from Tramadol

Has anyone experiencing withdrawals while still taking their Tramadols. I feel I'm in withdrawals. I'm on 6 X 50g Trams a day, I've tried to withdraw from Tramadol now for 2 years, with no success. I believe I'm now tollerent of this drug and I am having withdrawals while still taking this amount daily! Obviously not as bad as when I have tried to ween of them gradually, but defiantly the same symptoms as then, enough to make me bed ridden!

However, the whole thing left me with very severe clinical depression. You see, they trick your body into raising the blood levels of serotonin, but this then depletes your reserves and you are unable to function normally with a normal amount of serotonin once the tramadol is not controlling the release for you. Your body has lost the ability to maintain its own levels. I was forced to go on anti depressants. That was over four years ago and now I am tapering off the ADs. I'm virtually off them now and feel fine, but tramadol was largely responsible for that four years of more drugs.
But anyway, this is why you need to taper off the trams VERY slowly, to give your body a chance to start working for itself again. I would talk to your GP and explore other pain management drugs, but just do all your research on sites like this before taking them. After all, it is only just recently that the NHS has classified tramadol as a controlled drug, even though us patients have known for a very long time just how addictive and dangerous it can be. Good luck, and please keep us posted x

I wish there was a way we could transport doctors who don't comprehend the extreme withdrawal symptoms into our bodies and see if they could cope! Xx
