Can I suggest if you haven't started a low fat diet yet do so for a couple of days before you start taking the tablets as you may get some affects from fat already in your system, not meant to but some - me included - did get some loose stools a few days after starting and I hadn't changed my diet until the day I started the tablets.
Make sure you have enough low fat snacks that you don't get hungry between meals and try not to eat after 18.30 so your body has time to digest your last meal before it shuts down for sleep.
good luck on your journey

I am like you I have type 2 diabetes. This is me second time on the tablets. Last year I lost 1 1/2 stone in 3 months, but the Dr's policy then was only 3 months tablets and stopped me. Kept on a low fat diet without much sucess. Went on holiday for 3 weeks, put on 9 lbs, been back on the tablets 8 weeks and have lost 18 lbs. Nurse has stressed to make sure to have plenty of carbs to keep the diabetes steady. I have supper, usually cereal and milk just before bed to ensure blood sugar levels keep up for over night. Had a low sugar level do last April, never again, felt bad for a couple of days, so always have supper now.
Also any one tried Magic Porridge, porridge oats mixed with yoghurt, its great for breakfast with loads of fruit.
Good luck
