    No surgery. Sigh.

The radiologist couldn't get the guidewire in properly because of the size of the stone so now I need to go in for an out patient procedure to have the stone broken up before they can attempt again.

    I'm hopefully being discharged today.

    I'm very disappointed and frustrated.

Oh my goodness. I just hope that does not happen to me.

How did they atempt to remove the stone?

Surely if you had a scan beforehand they could see how large the stone was and realise this was going to happen!!

I really hope they sort this out soon.

Take care and keep in touch.

      Remembering you in my prayers.

They had an X-ray as well as a ct scan but they thought there was enough room to get where they needed to go. There was a 2 out of 3 chance.

Trust me I'm not thrilled. Had anyone said this beforehand I would have asked to do lithotripsy first to avoid the extra time in the hospital and now trying to schedule things with a tube in my back and a stylist drainage bag attached. Lol

Good luck with yours. It's a good question to ask if you have large staghorns. Had I know this was even a possibility I would have addressed it.

Looking for some help and support.

Consultant wants me to have cystoscopy before removing the kidney stone.

So I went for procedure in Brecon last week. Dr got half way through procedure and said I needed to have this done at Hereford and be put to sleep!!.

      So the wiat ontinues.

I rang Consu;tant's secretary on Monday and she said he would repsond and tell me where we go from here. No word since then.

In the meantime in pain with the kidney stone and really fed with it all.

All I want is for Consultant to take the huge kidney stone out so I can get on with the rest of my life.

Have not been back to GP regarding this but I may do so after Easter.

It is really difficult to make an appointment at local surgery now but do not know what else to do really.

Let me know how you are.

How big is your stone. I have one bigger than tennis ball. Fills the entire kidney.

      Not sure Linda.

Now my consultant has referred me to another urologist.

No date for seeing him yet so this just goes on and on.

I  went to GP last week and he said he thought they were deciding whether to take my stone out from the back or the front.

Frankly I don't care who does the surgery or how they do it, I just want this over and done with.

Let me know how you are. Take care

My stone one doc said was 8 cms.  Ct scan showed dimensions of 3.5 cm x 5.8. Cm. X 5.4 cm. Not sure how to figure the dimensions but I know it's big. Having pcnl surgery first part of June.  Interventional radiology puts the tube in back the day before surgery.  Stay in hospital one night

Great to hear the good news.

I have seen Urologist in Cheltenham and they are going to remove my stone in Bristol, no date yet. Apparently it is in a very awkward place for them to get to.

It is 3 cm or 29 mm.  Are you sure yours was 8 cm not 8 mm that does seem huge?

Anyway you are rid of it now. Hope that will soon be me.

Take care and keep in touch

No was 8 cms. I've known about it for many years but it wasn't giving me much problem so ignored it. They didn't get it all apparently cause some still in one of the horn of stag horn couldn't be reached. Going ties to talk about this

Glad you got an appointment and are moving forward to getting rid of that thing

      What state are you in?
