Tongue cancer or what?

Can someone please look at these photos? My taste buds seems to be big and red, and there is a spot on the side of my tongue. I also have growths or something under my tongue. My tongue is also very white, even a few hours after brushing it (seems like a white layer covering my tongue). What could al this be? I never had sex in my life.

I would go to GP and if/she is not sure what it is, ask for a referral from the GP to an ENT.

Ask the GP is he/she knows if the ENT knows the tongue, some do not.

If the GP is clueless on this, ask for 2 referrals and when you call to book, ask each of the ENTs

if they specialise on lesions of the tongue.

    Good luck.

Anything you get here is not a substitute for a clinical exam. For instance: I had what seemed like a lump on my throat a few years ago and only an ENT exam, with a camera pushed up my nose and down my larynx, revealed what it really was. Before that happened, I was on another website and received many guesses as to what it may be; and of course I was anxious until the ENT gave a definitive diagnosis.

Also when it comes to such an exam, if the ENT is busy ie has plenty of patients, the camera exam is almost painless. A spray of anaesthesia in the nose & throat prior to inserting the camera makes the procedure pain free. You may want to close your eyes when it takes place because many folk expect pain when they see something that should be painful. But with eyes closed, all I experienced was a bit of gagging.

I honestly see nothing wrong with your taste buds, nor with that little piece of tissue hanging under your tongue. I think it's called fimbriated fold of tongue or plica fimbriata.

About the color of the tongue, it also seems normal to me.

If you are very worried, talk to the general practitioner or to your dentist.
