Tonsillitis help?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I'm on day 5 of having tonsillitis, I went to the doctor yesterday and they said it is tonsillitis. But it doesn't seem to be getting better. I can only eat tiny things a bite at a time. I'm drinking a lot, having warm liquids, hot water with lemon. Salt water gargles. But my tonsils are so swollen. How long does it last and what helps the swollen tonsils?

I had mine for 2 weeks. The doctor recomended a deflam oral spray and it really worked. I hope you get better soon. I know how it feels.

When I was researching about tonsillitis a article came up about a girl that died because she had tonsillitis but it was leukemia. I have very bad anxiety so I get dizzy and lightheaded a lot when I'm anxious. But I was looking up the symptoms and they were lightheaded or dizzy, swelling in the abdomen, I have gone gluten free a few months ago so my stomach still bloats after meals. Ans enlarged lymph nodes. I'm just such a big worrier, I know there is a tiny chance it will turn into that but I'm just so scared, as I'm getting headaches too.

Like on the nhs website it said to see your gp after 4 days if no improvement which I did but it's still not better. I'll of had it a week tomorrow.
