Tonsillitis not improving?

So I began to develop the early symptoms of tonsillitis last Tuesday (7th April) and my condition had quickly worsened by Wednesday (Swollen tonsils, white pus spots, difficulty swallowing etc). I managed to phone my local GP and get a prescription for Erythromycin. I had been taking that and a gradual improvement was becoming apparent by Saturday (11th April). However, that night I had a coughing fit that dislodged much of the unpleasant plaque substance from my tonsils. Whilst that was a (Painful) immediate relief, my condition has declined. Whilst my left tonsil no longers hurts (Even though it is still a bit swollen), my right tonsil has got gradually more painful since the coughing fit on Saturday. I now have pain referring up to my right ear and difficulty opening my mouth. Swallowing is an extraordinary challenge, although quite possible when done soon after taking painkillers. When I'm on painkillers (Alternating between soluble paracetamol and ibuprofen at the moment) it's very much manageable, but when they wear off, the pain is considerably uncomfortable.
My antiobiotics course ends this Wednesday (15th April) and I think it's unlikely this is going to make a rapid recovery in that time. Is it possible I have developed quinsy? I seem to have a few of the symptoms that indicate such a problem, however my uvula is not deviated from its normal position, any advice would be fantastic.
