I am 39, never had Tonsillitis, got a cold last week then on Sunday it hit me like a Train, I thought this was is, I was only my way out.  Lucky my sister made me go to the walk in centre and I have Tonsillitis. I am now on the 3 day of Antibiotics.

1. I am only getting 2/3 hours sleep at a time?

2. Last nigth I woke up at midnight and felt great for about 1 hour, then went back down hill?

3. When I get up for the day, it can take 1/2 hours to clear my nose and throat?

4. I have an headace most of the time?

5. I get a bit of blurred vision?

Are all these normal things?

Thank you John

i would say so i had all that when i had it , you have a temp that causes blurred vision and the stiff neck from the swollen tonsills will give you a headache

you know if only doctors would tell you the possiable symptoms it would alliavate so much worry. from people .

Tiswas24537 is right. I used to get headaches too and my neck was stiff from swollen glands in my neck. The infection kind of takes over your head - it certainly did in my case! I had blurred vision but my eyes were also red and irritated, and stuck together with gunk after waking up, which suggested an eye infection. My ears were completely congested with mucus from inside so they became painful from the pressure and my hearing became muffled. It will be almost three weeks since I fell ill with tonsillitis but my ears are still partly congested and throat hurts periodically. Keep cheerful though - it can get very bad but then it will get better.
