Took pill a day early

I take the contraceptive pill (21 pills in a pack, then 7 day break). For a number of years I have been starting the pill on a Friday and stopping it on a Thursday. This Thursday just gone I mistakenly took the first pill of the new pack-thinking in my head it was Friday due to it being the last day of work before the Easter break...(odd how that can confuse you!). I noticed this yesterday when I realised it was only Friday and I saw I had already taken Friday's pill. I carried on with the next pill, but now I am slightly confused. As I am a creature of habit, I always like to stick to the same routine. To get back to normal, can I just change it so that from now on I always take my new pill on a Thursday instead of a Friday? Also, have I done any harm in taking the pill a day too soon? Will this mess up my cycle? Thanks for answers.

You can continue as you are, but just be careful the next 7days incase you are not protected (i think the same rule applies as with taking it late. If you want to get back to Fridays then have an 8day break next cycle but remember on the 8th day, and first 7days of pack you will not be protected. XX

Hi J2605, thank you for your reply-much appreciated. I had a think about it and I think I will now change my day to Thursday and always try and remember. Will maybe set up an alarm on my phone or something. Thanks very much and all the best.
