Topical estradiol irritation - anyone else?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I've been taking Estradiol, topically, for 2 months and lately I've noticed a slight irritation right in the area (entrance to the vagina) the day following my applying it.

The question is how much to put on my finger. First I heard the size of a "blueberry" was the right dosage but another nurse told me a strip the length of your first knuckle joint to the tip of your finger - that is about 1"

Anyway, the irritation is very slight but I feel it when I walk.

Right now I'm in a wait and see mode. I have put a cotton pad in there soaked with a gentle vaginal moisturizer.

Thanks for any advice.

Try using coconut oil because its natural and a great moisturizer. Also its an antibacterial. A few other tips if you dont already do it, dont use soap to wash, just warm water, wash your panties separately with a mild detergent and no fabric softner.. all of that can dry your tissues out and work against the cream. I have an applicator for my cream thats inserted inside, then I use a pea sized amount on the outer bits. I've not heard of just putting it on your finger, doesn't seem like it would make it to the vaginal walls very well.. but I'm not a doctor so what do I know lol
