    Hi,

I've also just started on these - tried everything known to man so far!

I started about 10 days ago but only on 15mg (gp very conservative on dosage) I also feel very muggy and heady a little numbness in finger tips and toes so I went back a couple of days ago as I felt they were'nt really helping and hes told me to increase dosage to 30mg which I have felt quite dizzy a couple of times over the weekend so took it easy and am just watching myself - but everything I seem to read on these says that they take a while to kick into your system and that its worth the initial side effects - so I think i'll persevere - just happy not to have a migraine even if my heads not 100%. A lot of users say they've lost their appetite and dropped some weight - can't say I have

Hi, ive also been prescribed topiramate, starting at 25mg for the 1st week increasing up to 100mg daily. Am currently 2 weeks in and up to 50mg and have had a stinking headache every day so far, also have felt so exhausted, dizzy and confused. Finding it really hard to concentrate on things, keep feeling lightheaded and very \"spaced out\". Go back to the Dr's in another week by which time i'll be on 100mg, don't think these are the tablets for me. Have also been feeling very sickly whilst taking these. Have tried so many different tablets for the migraines so far but nothing has worked, had blood tests, eye tests, ECG's and CT scan, am at my wits end. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. :?

This is my 2nd time taking Topiramate and it feels worse this time. Im taking them for contant headaches and by constant I mean from the moment I wake, all day.

They didnt work last year because for 3 years the headaches went un-diagnosed, after an Mri test, different medications, eye tests, doctors thinking I was the headaches were in my head-literally, I finally had a lumbar puncture which revealed the pressure in the cerebal spinal fluid was high which was Benign Intra cranial hypertension, which can be caused from being overweight. Ive since lost 3 stone had no headaches for nearly a year and then they've come back! Had another lumbar puncture last month, the pressure was 'normal' yet I have all the same symptons. So Sandy I know how you feel, I too am at my wits end, Im trying to work whilst taking Topiramate and feeling sick and dizzy, today my BP went up to 140/100 and Ive never had high BP, fortunutely I work in a hospital and my bp came down on its own. Im on my 3rd day of 100mg having done the 25mg once a day, then twice etc, Fingers crossed they work! Good luck everyone!

Hi guys, I took these last year prescribed by the neurologist. I started on 25mg and increased weekly to 100mg but came off them under GP supervision after a month. I hated the side affects and didn't feel they helped. However, I've just gone back on them yesterday to try again, but increase more slowly and persevere longer this time hopefully. They can take 2-3 months to become properly effective, so if you can tolerate them I guess you won't know if they prevent your migraines or not til you've been on them for long enough.

I've ended up trying again cos I'm at my wits end and just cannot go on with the amount of migraines I've been having and feeling so awful even betwen attacks as constantly 'knocked out' from the last one, if that makes sense.

    Good luck all xxx
