Hello fellow sitz bathers! I had hemorrhoidectomy 6days ago and it has mentally drained me as well as physically

I didnt know what a SITZ BATH was but it has become my best friend . I have now got two open wounds and i'm allergic to anti biotics . No help from hospital or doctor they so busy i think we just left to get on with it.

Can anyone suggest what to do to prevent infection as I was told no salt?

I also have son with Autism and Dad with Alz heimers and I cannot do a thing to help them I need to get better and fast . My severe anxiety is through the roof so any suggestions greatly appreciated

    Everything I have read said that chance of infection in this area is very low. i also have an open wound from stitches falling out during a bm. I just make sure to disinfect my sitz bath with a spray or wipe after each use and hop in the shower to rinse off with my handheld shower head. I also use aquaphor to protect from the painful discharge, which my doc cleared.

      Thank you for replying . This is so traumatising i still cant even sit to eat dinner. I have more surgery to come and I dont know how to cope although my doctor is useless he refused to come and see me.

      being a parent through this has been the hardest. i have 6 month old that I have held twice in over a week.

      hope recovery was better today.
