Total ankle replacement.

Posted , 1 user is following.

I'm almost seven months post-operative following a total ankle replacement. The surgery was successful and the pain was manageable. However, in the last five weeks I have been suffering with what I can only describe as "bone crunching" pain when I get up from a chair and start to walk. The pain then eases off once Ive taken around a dozen steps.

Can I just ask, has anyone else who has had a TAR suffered anything similar or are their anyone with a medical background cast their professional knowledge as to may be causing this pain. Just for clarity, there's been no form of sprain or trauma, its just recently flared up.

Many thanks in advance

John UK.
