Total hip replacement gone wrong! Is this common?

On 2/9 I had right THR. within one hour post op, they did a second surgery because the ball joint was the wrong size.......within 20 minutes of that surgery, they gave me general anasthesia to fix the dislocation caused by staff as I never came out of recovery. 4 nights in hospital. 8 days later I took an ambulance ride to ER AT 1am as I woke up with what the doctor said was "the worst dislocation he has ever seen". 7 days, back to hospital dislocated and followed by surgery number 3 to replace the cup and insert a screw. ok, I am 4 weeks post op from surgery #3 and can hardly walk still. I have constant pain in my whole leg and my toes are numb. It goes without saying I am the beneficiary of a bad experience. I am healthy and a perfect candidate for a great outcome until this. I have searched tirelessly for any info to help me understand what my surgeon can not and I am starting to feel like i am the first and alone. my question...has anyone experienced anything like this and if so, how long before you were "normal?" I walked 7 miles the day before my surgery and now I fear I will never hike like that again. PLEASE do not let my misfortune keep you from getting a new hip.

My hip dislocated in hospital while in the shower when I fainted. It sounds like they did not check the required hip replacement for you initially. You seem to have had a rotten time. I am now six months after my new hip and it is just starting to feel normal.
