Total hysterectomy with BSO - urinary tract infections

hi - Im 12 days post op have had some problems - feeling very unwell during recovery - nausea, extreme weakness- tired and headaches but recently over past couple of days i had a foul discharge (horrible) which i could feel seeping out of vagina and then developing itching and stinging when passing water and now thats progressed to passing blood in my urine - has anyone experienced anything similar in post op hysterectomy?

any advice would be very appreciated xx

    sou da like a bad infection hun.please see yiur gp asap. this us common after hysterectomy so dont worry.

    I'm meantime loads of water with a teaspoon of bicarbonate in it. this will neutralise the stinging.

    Hi Lara. Have you told your doctor? UTIs are very common after surgery when you've had a catheter. I was given a 7 day course of antibiotics and it cleared. However, I also had significant slightly discoloured leakage which I was told was drainage from the surgical procedure. It lasted a good week and I went through what seemed like a landfill of adult diapers. If it's painful to urinate, then you probably have an infection and should get antibiotics. Check with your doctor immediately.
