Total knee replacement now hard to straighten

8 weeks after TKR

I'm doing so much better now.  I'm up to 124 degrees bending.  now I have to focus on straightening my knee more.  When i do exercises to straighten my knee, I I feel my bend is being compromised.

I was told to sit in chair, and stretch leg out so heel is on another chair.  Then put a weight on my knee.  this hurts.  But all these exercises hurt.

Just so you know.  at 6 weeks I was only at 105 and was considering manipulation under anesthesia.  So glad I didn't do that.  Just keep working on it!!!

Hi Jennie, I have learned we’re all different and there is no normal. I am 8.5 weeks post TKR and pleased with progress but still fighting impatience. I do the two chair exercises and #3 CHICO recommends. Finally able to add ankle weights for bending and progressing. Want to be at least 120 degrees by May 4 for checkup. My doctor is fabulous but he surely pushes! Today was the first day I could walk up and down small flight of stairs (only 4) without pain so I’ll take it!  Hang in there and accept it will get better when it gets better.

I had a TKR end of August 2017. after 5 months I was unable to straighten my leg and found difficult to walk. Then my Doctor decided to do a manupulation under anesthisia and debridement of especially in the suprapatella, with a pop cast. After3 days of surgery the leg appears to be straight .I hope i wont have more scare tisses.
