Total right knee....blisters

Hey, I had total right knee replacement. They put the same bandage on the knee that they used on my hair. They went to change it this morning and I have several blisters. Is this common? I've asked and they said yes but I was wondering if anybody on this forum has ever experienced it. Thanks!! ????

You can walk without crutches as soon as you feel able to.
I never used them, came home using two sticks, and was down to one after a day, that's in the house, outside I used two for around a week to walk around the garden.
Nearly eleven months now, many still need one stick if walking far, but that's really because I had a different surgery and wasn't able to walk outside for a few months.
You have to keep the excersice up, or you go backwards.
The heavy feeling does go, just keep icing and resting, after excersicing, you go at your own rate, your body will tell you if you do too much.x.

Janice, we all move at different speeds because of all the variables. Age, how long you were walking badly before the surgery, how much you were able to prepare with exercise before surgery, how much you are able to push through. I had both knees done the same day, used a walker for roughly the first two weeks (I was never given the option of crutches, they wanted me putting full weight on them immediately, even made sure I wasn't leaning on my walker). The doctor said when I came in for my 1 month follow-up he wanted to see me without the walker. I thought he was batty, but my PT had me practice walking around my apartment without it and only one cane, and started me on the stairs. And I did it!
