Total right knee....blisters

Posted , 12 users are following.

Hey, I had total right knee replacement. They put the same bandage on the knee that they used on my hair. They went to change it this morning and I have several blisters. Is this common? I've asked and they said yes but I was wondering if anybody on this forum has ever experienced it. Thanks!! ????

Lors, I understand the aprehension. But as one who is 22 months post op, I'm so glad I did it. I'm enjoying life again and not dreading anything that requires walking or standing in line. It's a bear initially, but just keep looking towards the goal - walking without pain or limping. Don't let the fear or pain hold you back.

Your comment here is so true! I am at 18 weeks tomorrow after bilats on Mar 21. I'm in Asia travelling as before, backpacker cheap. My new knees have not let me down! I did 80 steps up and down with 7kg of luggage. I walked 5 kms and I feel amazing. I am paying a little for the effort of 2 travel days, 8 hrs in aircraft and 4 hrs in a train BUT it would have been impossible prior to my tkr's. The recovery is so slow but I feel like I was right to get my new knees! Hugs from Penang.

I'm headed back to India in a month and really hoping to see Penang in about 7 months! I'm glad you are taking advantage of the new knees. We really should start a bilateral club.

Count me in! Let's call it "double or nothing TKR's". I used to live in Himachal Pradesh. Then Gokarna in the winter. Spent a month in Karnataka then Kerala last December. I have loved it, disliked it and now just like India now! I am no longer addicted!

Penang is sooo easy to live in. Next year I will rent for 6 months and skip over to Koh Samui for a change. Life is great if we never, ever give up! X

Hi mo. I sent you a reply but it's waiting to be moderated???? Anyway I am a regular Indian traveller too! Lived there for a year. Xmas 2015 in Gokarna then Kochi. Love it and hate it! Enjoy your trip. I had a ravi dosa for you this morning! X

I've mostly lived in the Northwestern region, this time I'm in the Pearl City. Maybe I'll actually make it over to Goa this time. smile

Hi mo. I like Agonda in Goa and Palolim but Goa is not my fave state. Gokarna is magical for me. Messy, chaotic town with ashrams and temples and super good food! Kudle Beach is worth the hike over the hill! Enjoy your trip!

I have to admit, I've never heard of Gokarna, I had to look it up on a map. So some good Bengali food, huh? They are known for their fish over there, or so I've been told. It's more than a trip, I'll be there with a three year contract, teaching American English. smile

Not so much Bengali food as South Indian idli, dosa, yes fish curries, plenty of amazing foreign food too! Nepali cooks! Can't beat a great Nepali cook and their wondrous ability to copy food from anywhere! So you teach? I teach English in Oz as a volunteer. I love it! Wish I'd done teaching instead of Accounting! Sounds like you have a great life! I am a gypsy, grey nomad and thanks to our generous pension, next year will be Kampot ,Cambodia then maybe back to Myanmar. Travel is something I live for! Knees have been very good lately! We shall see how they handle Thailand! Travel well!

Were you in McLeod Gunj by any chance? I love it up there. India is under my skin, but I'm starting to think I may look to something closer to my parents. Maybe try somewhat of a normal life again --- if it doesn't drive me batty. We'll see, there's still lots of time to change my mind.

I was in Myanmar a few years ago. I am hoping to go back sometime in the next couple years. So beautiful, and I still have so much more to see. Yes, I teach English, I'm not a school teacher, but I have gone through an extensive ESL training and love it. I'm not sure I'd say I'm a gypsy, but traveling is in my blood! My dad was in the Air Force and I was in the Navy. I have an appetite for travel. I think my retirement job may be working with a travel company leading retirees on exotic trips. smile

Hi mo. We were in Rewalsar. Beautiful town. Gets very cold around Dec 1. Time to head for Sthn India then. South America might suit you, somewhere like Buenos Aires or Mendoza or perhaps Quito in Ecuador? The World awaits!
