Trabulectomy

- my husband is having a trabulectomy soon .
- does anyone know what the recovery is like ? will he be able to drive ? if not for how long ?
- any tips would be appreciated

Hi Christine, I haven't had a trabeculectomy but I have had other eye ops. This link looks helpful & includes a trabeculectomy.

I found the Staff Nurses very helpful when I had my last eye op, I'm sure he would find the same. I wish him well.

They normally say do not drive for a week, do not swim for at least a month, do not go back to work for at least two weeks if not a month, avoid strenuous exercise for at least a month. Gentle walking is OK. Your husband can probably ask when he has it done for more detailed information. In general a month seems to be a magic number.

I dont know I've never heard of it -but Ive googled what it is though. Perhaps talk through these issues with your GP
