Tramadol and methocarbamol, when to take?

I was thinking of taking the pain pill before a long walk and then the muscle relaxant afterwards. I was thinking about taking the muscle relaxant(methocarbamal) with gabapentin just before bed to help sleep. I was told not to mix the tramadol at the same time with the methocarbamal by my discharge nurse but one night a nurse gave me both at the same time because the pain was keeping me from falling asleep.

Look up the drug info from the manufacturers on line and read contraindications.

Yeah sorry for being lazy. I was hoping for some quick answers. I did some study of tramadol and have decided to limit it since it is an opiate. I'm a recovering alcoholic but in this case from time to time I will accept, as long as its much less than what the nurses said is acceptable

Hi, not sure if this helps, I had pain and sleepless nights which thought was muscle but was the scare for me. So I basicaly put on a pair of large PJ shorts and another pair of PJ bottoms so when moving around the scare has less friction so less pain I've just woke up from a 11 hour sleep no pain.

Thanks. My pain is more internal. My doc uswd that dermabond super glue stuff with another lager coating about an inch further out. Even though it shows good healing he also insists on regular rebandaging so friction doesn't scrape off the derm- glue

Thanks for responding John I appreciate it I'll try to see what I can find. It has been 13 months I just took a nother attempt at that sleeping. And it didn't quite work out naturally I found some comfort in someone that suggested I do kind of a lean forward when I lay down and then kind of slowly lean back as you know the pain subsided on my 13 month old scar replacement area that kind of worked all right so that was great I have to write to them and thank them. But actually my new one which is the left with Wayne kind of heavily on me so I got in about an hour and 15 minutes minutes of lying down which is better than sitting in my lift recliner. Thanks for the suggestion wishing you a good day

Also the pt nurse showed my a technique of hooking the ankle on the good leg under the bad to lift it up as I swing over into bed...always on my back. I miss sleeping on my stomach

After reviewing the muscle relaxant it looks like it reduces pain as well which is probably why the nurses asked me which one I wanted when I said I was in pain. Unfortunately they gave me less methocarbamol then they did the Tramadol but fortunately I see my primary care doctor before the methocarbamol Runs Out
