Margaret Hi and welcome. I am not trying to get off tranquilizers but please don't just wait and see. Seek medical advice before the cure becomes worse than the disease. As for anxiety and stress, I was as jumpy as mouse in a kennel til I found a product, prescribed by a naturopath, called \"Organo adrenoStress\", spelled exactly as I have written it here. This is made by Medicine Tree Pty Ltd, 651 Portrush Road, Glen Osmond South Australia 5064. This is a metered dose spray which you aim under your tongue, 4 shots up to 4 times a day and it really helps with anxiety/panic attacks. It comes in a 20 mL oral spray and there are no side effects and it is not addictive. I used the first bottle very quickly but used only a third of the second before it was under control. I keep it here, but have not needed it for 10 months. And in that time I have been through divorce, have been bashed in my home by intruders while recovering from knee reconstruction surgery, have been off work and thought I'd never return etc ... It works! Perhaps you can find a similar product over there. I will quote the ingredients exactly as listed on the bottle:

    [quote:5276d91923]Active Ingredients:- Contains equal parts of Acid. phos. 18C, Adenohypophysis 12C, Cortex suprarenalis 12C, Cutis 5C, Glandulae suprarenales 12C, Glandula thyroidea 7C, Hepar 5C, Hypothalamus 12C, Ignatia LM/1, LM/2, LM/3, Renes 5C.

    Contains ethanol.[/quote:5276d91923]

The product is called Organo adrenoStress and I have found it very helpful, non habit-forming, no side effects. But I don't know whether it is legally available in the UK.

Take the time to look after you. xx

    Hi Breezman,

Thank you for the reply. Im not new to coming of tranx. been doing it now for over 3 year. I was on Lorazepam for over 20 years and ended up on Valium after reaching such a low dose. The anxiety is caused by withdrawal, thats why the doc prescribed citalopram but its done nothing for me at all, except give me worse side effects.

I did buy Bachs Flower remedy spray but doctor said i was not to use it with tablets, but it did help.

Anyway thanks again and good luck to everyone here.

    Hi Margaret,

Can I suggest that you think about seeing a different medico? Citalopram is used for a number of coditions, but as you can see if you check this forum, there are a lot of side effects.

Good luck. Don't give up. Keep asking questions of competent medical people until you find what works for you. xx

    Hi Breeznman,

Sorry after really being force3d off tranx here in the UK I dont trust medics at all. They know nothihng about the withdrawal of coming off any tablets. I should never have been given Citalopram. all they did was make me even more scared. I have never suffered depressionj, but believe me I wanted to die with the side effects that came with this drug..

Dont want to put anyone one off, it just never worked for me.
