Transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation

In the Journal of Neurosciences in Rural Practice there is an article about this electric nerve stimulation.  I am interested in knowing if anyone has had this treatment and what the outcome was.

I have had TN for 5 months due to facial shingles.  I am on 2700 mg of neurontin and 20 mg of norttriptoline. I have both nerve pain and facial numbness.  I have been seeing a chiropractor for 2 weeks without a positive outcome and tomorrow I start electric nerve stimulation tomorrow using my own tens machine.  I will let you know the outcome.

Thank you for sharing your story.  I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia in 2000 though I feel that I had symptoms for many years before that.  I took Tegretol for many years until it became toxic in my system.  Then had two microvascular decompressions spaced five years apart.  I am currently on 450mg of Lyrica, but am having breakthrough pain.

I hope the nerve stimulation works for you.  I am sorry you are suffering from facial shingles as well as TN.  I am looking forward to hearing what happens with the electric nerve stimulation.  Thanks again for your story.
