SDP criteria is you live alone or classed as living alone and no one claims carers allowance for looking after you. If you don't live alone and you live with a partner or anyone else over the age of 18 then you must both or all be claiming a qualifying benefit... Mid/high rate care DLA, daily living PIP or Attendance Allowance. If you both claim either of these then you'll qualify for couples SDP which is £128.60 extra on top of your ESA. This can be backdated to the start of his PIP award.
