Transverse Sacrum fracture , pain six months later - how to follow if healed

I had transverse sacrum fracture in a fall backwards on cement, plus a coccyx injury.( moves sideways) 6 month later I am still in severe pain re both. I am unable to sit much at all.
My question is, how does one check if the sacrum fracture is indeed healing? ( I have osteopenia)
My sacrum fracture was not diagnosed by the x-ray after the fall, but by MRI six weeks later. I was told the transverse fracture would heal in 3 months. Now 6 months late , I am still have agonizing pain, sitting causes horrible pain across lower back buttocks, particularly left sacrum, the slightest core exercise or activity causes horrible pain. The pain suggests to me it is not healing? Or perhaps, maybe the fracture is more complex issue? I asked an orthopedist, if the healing could be checked by MRI, since the literature indicated MRI is a very good and sensitive scan to diagnose stress fractures. So why not follow the healing the same way? I was told, the appropriate scan to see if the sacrum is healing is a Pelvic CT, not an x-ray , not an MRI, or limited CT of lower spine /sacrum. Pelvic CT is a lot of radiation for me personally ( prior pelvic radiation exposure). Therefore my question could x-ray or MRI be an alternative ?
