Trapeziectomy advice

Hi. had a hip replacement last year, which was wonderful, and now it's time to think about the next part of my body that hurts. My left thumb is very painful all the time. I've had a steroid injection before but that failed to provide any relief. The surgeon who operated on my hip (and previously, a shoulder, and a carpal tunnel release op too) said that a trapeziectomy would be the way to go and get rid of the pain that I have all day every day. Just interested in other people's experiences with this surgery (not too many horror stories, please!)

I just had this surgery 4 days ago. It was/is not extremely painful. I am still bandaged up and can only wiggle my fingers. Too early to say how it will go but so far so good

Thank you, Victoria. Good to hear that everything went well and that it's not too painful for you.
