Trapeziectomy recovery results

I am interested in hearing from active women who had a trapeziectomy after age 60.

How long was your recovery period?

What was your pain relief level post recovery?

What percentage of your normal activity has been successfully restored?

Would you have the surgery again if the same condition occurs on your other hand?

Are you interested because you are contemplating having this procedure or do you have another reason?

I am interested because my hand surgeon has recommended this procedure and I am attempting to weigh all options.

Although I can't help with your specific question, I noticed this today, and wonder if the same sort answer may be what you're looking for: https://patient.info/forums/discuss/thumb-arthritis-734142

I was told in order to treat a trigger finger I would probably have to have a ligament (?) snipped. Not being keen on this I went to a physiotherapist who did a little research (a new question for her) and she showed me how I could find the place in my hand where the ligament or tendon, whatever it was, was catching, and massage it. It only took a few days and the problem went away never to return.

If you can find a non-surgical treatment which helps your situation that would be great. Good luck. 🍀
