I was going to my girlfriends house and just felt really really detached from reality and it just kept getting worse once I got in her house. I just felt like I was going to need to go to a mental hospital. I kept having thoughts of who I am and things like that. I sat down took everything in, freaked out for a bit and just kept shaking my leg. I don't know what to do it felt really severe and now I'm scared for the future of more of this keep happening. I need help.

as I was reading this I thought are u joking this is me all over, I have exactly the same thing happen to me on a daily basis, u are not alone! And u certainly aren't going crazy. It's just anxiety it can not hurt u, I know easier said than done lol. But I'm in your situation too. I get so scared I'm going mad sometimes I start to question who I am and feel so detached from my surroundings I start to freak out which then turns into a full blown panic attack sad are u on any meds and are you in any therapy ? I have just started CBT third session in going okay so far and u learn so much about anxiety etc.. hope this helps u feel u are not alone smile

No I'm not on meds, but I'm starting group therapy tomorrow until I get some one on one attention. Thank you very much for sharing. It makes me feel so not alone and crazy like. I think the best would be for me to go home and lay down with my eyes closed. It's been reuccuring since I got to her house. Sometimes I feel like I keep waking up from a bad dream. Hope is there. Thank you.

Ps what medication helped? If you did take any.

You sound like you had a panic attack. Thats all. Its horrific but they oass. Do not feed into it and do not fear the fear here. Then it can recycle. Yes i agree they are traumatizing. I feel otsd comes from these attacks easily.

You need some good  therapy, they help teach self calming skills too. get some books on anxiety disorders and panic attacks, they have great anxiety workbooks, Pinterest and learn to belly breathe.  Knowledge is power. You can also speak to your go they hear it daily.  They can guide you as well.

If you are ever having a panic attack you can get immediate help by searching YouTube for panic attack emergency. They will guide you through it. There are several to choose from just pick one .

just keep in mind that these panic symptoms as horrible as they are cannot physically hurt you! You will not go crazy and it will pass.

You can even search for non-emergency panic attack help on you tube.

You should really go and see your gp/dr now and explain whats going on. You know its a panic disorder but sometimes it can be very difficult to calm. Therapy is a must with this. Keeps one sane and grounded. With therapy and maybe some as needed meds you will get this under control.it takes time no quick fix for it. Panic attacks are traumatic. Absolutely. They sell anxiety and phobia work books and dbt workbooks. Id suggest both. And read them cover to cover they will guide you and you can discuss it all in therapy as well.

Yes it's awful. All the adrenal pumping into your system makes it feel like your head may explode at any minute and your thoughts go into overdrive. You are not alone here. Learning what is actually happening and how your body responds from anxiety is a good start, then learning techniques to calm yourself down. In therapy you can get to the cause hopefully and uncover your triggers.
