TRAVEL POST RECTOCELE REPAIR

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hi all!

I am scheduled to have a posterior repair next week. Small possibility of an anterior repair as well but dr says not likely to be required.

I have an overseas holiday booked in December and my dr assures me I'll be fully healed and ready to go by then. It will be 11 weeks post op.

Having read a bunch of forum posts I am now worried I WILL NOT be fully healed and this will impact my enjoyment of my holiday. 9 hour flight from Australia to Japan. The holiday will involve walking around Tokyo and other cities, a little bit of snow play (sledding etc but no skiing), and some fun and games at Tokyo Disneyland.

Am I mad to think I will be up to any of these holiday activities?? I have been looking forward to this trip all year, am going with 15 other family members.

I really don't want to postpone the surgery though.

What to do???

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, insights etc.

    Hi there

I had rectocele cystocele repair on 1st May last year and on the 13 July flew 2 the UK from Australia for a holiday for a month. I think as long as ur sensible and mindful to not overdo it and let someone else lug around ur heavy suitcase I think u will be fine. It was my 2nd surgery, the first time I was 24, second time I was 50! Take care and enjoy ur holiday
