Travel tips

We are leaving for Cambodia within the next 12 hrs or so. I’m apprehensive about my LS care. It was calm for so long but the last weeks it’s touch and go. 😢.

One of the really big irritations for me is sweat and if my underwear gets damp from sweat.

Also, I’m told there may not be toilet tissue everywhere we go so to bring wipes. Any comments on Cottonelle flushable wipes? I’m scared of reacting to them but that’s what I bought.

Thanks so much. Any tips for dealing with the heat appreciated. Have cotton underwear and will b wearing skirts.

I would take a squirt bottle that can be filled with water

to keep yourself clean after each urination. I would take those small kleenex packs tobloat afterwards. I would get some kotex light pads (becausethat is the purest brand) and wear or change them as needed.

Sandra ~ how much Vitamin D3 have you been taking? Perhaps double it for the entire trip. And don't forget Vitamin A and also Magnesium.  You do NOT want to become dehydrated!!  the magnesium will counteract the tendancy of the vitamin D to create constipation. The Magnesium is also very good in itself. LEt's see, plan on reminding yourself to drink an entire glass of water each an every hour or MOre. You CAN become dehydrated there faster than you realize.

My daughter told me that she really appreciated having the Grapefruit Seed Extract pills I had sent her with when visiting her Dad in Mumbai and over to Cambodia when she was a teen. Grapefruit seed extract apparently is 85 times stronger than vitamin C in keeping away parasites etc etc.

WATER - don't drink anything other than water (well, check with the guide books if you haven't already they may have suggestions about which water is safe and where)... and on the plane over on those interminable globe trotting rides.. you can ALSO get dehydrated faster than a ...whatever. IF you don't watch that carefully when you land you'll  find yourself throwing up from the heat and dehydration at the same time.  If you have to set a buzzer on your cell phone do it. water! is the gift of life - grin. alcohol will make you sick or not so good anyway, ditto on sugary sodas..

OH! and isn't it Melatonin that makes for an easier transition timezone wise? I seem to remember that going to Egypt from the US some years ago, and Coming back from Singapore to South Korea to San Francisco leg of the journey...

Don't all wipes have some sort of perfumed cleanser in them? Maybe something like travel sized packages of tissues would suffice. Not to mention that "flushable" wipes can clog toilet drains. Happened in my house. Tenant may have been using a lot; don't know, but it required a drain guy to resolve the problem. When the snake pulled it out I thought I was looking at a small paper towel till he clued me in.

I use cottenelle. Can’t say if they help or hurt. My best practice is to pay or just put it there and hold it. No wiping in other words. Just dabbing over and over.

    Good luck!

Also, those wipes haven’t clogged my toilet, but I do flush as needed. If it looks like enough, I flush and pat some more.

Renters don’t think of that 🤦🏼???

Hi- I have used Cetaphil wipes when toilet tissue was not available- they are very gentle. And I wear a 100% organic cotton pantyliner Veeda or Rael) every day to keep all creams and moisturizers off my panties. Damp panties are horrible! I change each each time I go potty. Hv a good trip and tey to stay cool. ( you can dry between your legs with a cool hairdrier too if you get too sweaty. )

I haven't heard many women say they use a hair dryer, but I have used one  after bathing for years. Was recommended once by a gyn and I find it very convenient. Obviously cool setting. I don't use it after using the toilet though. TP works well enough and doesn't irritate me. I'm more afraid of the wipes irritating me at this point.
