the first time i was on 50mg at night it worked wonders for sleep. but not for depression.

then for some reason my pdoc stopped it in favour of some other drug (cant remember what). after no results and ages later he started me back on 150 mgs of traz at night along with other meds etc. i feel no better. getting worse daily.

but from what ive read about traz its easy to get off. even cold turkey. please research it diligently and ask your doc as well

    i hope you manage

i have spoken to psychiatrist who says i can just stop the trazodone at 50mg. he gave no information on withdrawals and i am really worried this may occur as ive read a lot about it and it says to titrate but we in uk dont have cuttable tablets.

well, i have attempted to stop the 50mg and have had two days of non stop agitation, anxiety and nausea. felt so bad i had to reinstate last evening. i dont know how to get off this, itmust be a strong drug as i have only been on it a few weeks and i cant get off it. you are obviously in similar boat but with other meds too. its not easy to get off from my experience and im agitated and anxious all the time now, diazepam doesnt even touch it. cant believe dr said just stop it - nearly sending me mad.

Ann there is always a withdrawal symptom that will take place whenever you stop taking any anti depressant and can last for months. You should see a specialist like a psychiatrist who can make a good diagnose and place you on the right medication. I did it and I am doing fine now. My Primary care was prescribing me the wrong medication. Keep up hope and prayers will also help a lot. god bless

you are very lucky. i have been seeing psychiatrist who has prescribed many different meds and none have worked, only made me worse. this trazodone for last five weeks is no different. when reading about it it says dont stop, titrate, but it is a capsule so i cannot. Asked psych what to do and he said just stop. i think this may cause nasty side effects and am very worried.
