Treating fibrosis

Hi, so i have been diagnosed with fibrosis NAFLD last december 2017. I have been away from the foods that are bad for my liver and eat all healthy foods ( includes vegetables, fruits, fish, organic brown rice drinking coffee/green tea) and i do a regular excercise 5 times a week (2hours per day and currently enrolled in muay thai class). I weigh about 182 pounds last december but now im only down to 168pounds, lost 14 pounds in 1 month and 12 days. My gym trainor told me that my target weight should be at 125 - 130 pounds.

Just wondering or maybe i just want assurance from u guys if what im doing right now would cure/reverse my fibrosis, 100% sure? Cuz sometimes i just cant stop worrying about it.

Great job on the weight loss.  My son was also diagnosed with NAFLD and all his dr told him was diet and exercise.  He is not overweight and already ate pretty good.  So we just amped everything up.  Milk Thistle is supposed to help regenerate the liver you can try that it comes in tea form.  Did you dr tell you to come back in like 6 months to check or anything.

I think you are doing everything you are supposed to for your liver.  I would try not to worry about it so much.  I know easier said then done.

patti may I ask how your son was diagnosed and how old he is, I expect I will have to have regular gastro appointments if it is NAFLD causing my problems of course it may be unrelateded

Two years ago he had an endoscopy and diagnosed with gastritis and gerd and his bili was 3.5.  Nothing else wrong.  Recently had blood work and bili was 2.4 so dr sent him to ultrasound and that is where he was diagnosed with NAFLD.  He is 27 now.  His bili went down in two years and now the dr just says diet and exercise but we have found alot of info online as to what helps.  Dr did not say if he wanted to see him in the future but he was just diagnosed last week, so we will see.  Best of luck

Yes i read a lot of article and also they recommend to take milk thistle. I hope your son is getting much better now. Well my doctor said that i should just eat healthy, get a regular exercise and lose weight. He did not suggest that i should drink any meds. And yes i will come back to him in 6 months to check if my liver has improved. Im just really worried specially this past few days since i am feeling pain in my upper right abdomen.

I admire the fact that you work out. I need to join a gym to keep my stress down and feel comfortable in my own skin again. I am very short so every pound shows. Keep up the good work!
