Treatment Options for Bleeding Internal Hemorrhoids

My 70-year young dad has bleeding internal hemorrhoids and they have been getting worse.

What are some possible treatment options

Please note, he is already in severe pain after 2008 surgery to increase anal opening. Instead, anal opening was more narrow, and less flexible.

My Dad started getting hemorrhoids for past few months. In Oct 2017, Dr prescribed Topical Compound of Diltiazem, Lidocaine and Hydrocortisone to treat anal ulcers, but that caused severe anal itching.

I would suggest he goes to see his doctor for them to prescribe medication.

      Thank you Mary.

In the past when Doctor prescribe medication, the situation gets worse.

One doctor prescribed a compound of Diltiazem, Lidocaine and Hydrocortisone to heal anal ulcers, but it created intolerable anal itching.

Then the same Doctor recommended Calmoseptine, which made anal itching severly worse.

In other words, we want to do our homework BEFORE going to Doctor in case Doctor's medications makes patient's conditions even worse.

Plus I'm reading all the horror stories of recovery from hemorrhoidectomy. My Dad is in such a delicate situation.

We are looking for how to treat internal bleeding hemorrhoids without making health even worse.

I also have hemorrhoids internal grade 2. Some one on this Forum praised an ointment called Mayinglong Musk. I have still not used it. You may wish to see its details on google and then decide if it can be useful for your Dad.

I had four internal and two external removed in October last year. For the pain I was given paracetamol and dihydrocodeine. For BM I was given lactulose and fybogel which really helped me. Breakfast is bran flakes with either raspberries or blackberries. Drink lots of water. I took short walks and built this. The first BM was painful as you do not know what to expect. Then the pain got less and less. After each BM I took a shower then changed it to a bath. This really helped. You just have to remember when you have a bm not to force it and just let it take its time. In March when I went to the doctor they gave me anusol cream and also suppositories. This helped but I still had then so got an appointment at the hospital. I read every thing what people wrote and was dreading the operation. But you just have to remember everyone is different. My operation was in the UK. My diet is high fibre diet and lots of vegetables. I still drink lots of water.

Try your chemist and see what they have.

Have you considered banding? It'll make him uncomfortable for a couple days, but if successful, should take care of the internal hems
